THINK the mission.
We develop and deliver evangelism knowledge to cultivate thoughtful evangelism leaders. We
thank God for those who envisioned the Billy Graham Center in
the late 1970s and early 80s as a place to "think"
the gospel. A world-class research and scholarship facility
focused sharply on evangelism and missions is the result.
The
Archives and Museum
offer some of the best available resources for scholarship.
People from the church throughout the world are welcome to use
these resourcesfor a day, a week, even a year or more.
Our Web site provides detailed lists of our collections. Our
archivists, libraries, and museum staff stand ready to assist.
We commit to expanding our resources and finding more and better
ways to "deliver" the wealth of evangelism knowledge
to the church.
We
are also excited about planning consultations where serious
issues pertaining to evangelism and missions can be addressed.
This think-tank concept has been a vital part of the Center's
mission since the beginning and we intend to continue. A
series of consultations
called Evangelism Roundtables brings together scholars and practitioners for dialogue.
Research
growing mold in notebooks and on dusty shelves is of little
value. We commit to "delivering" evangelism knowledge
with high quality, affordable materials. Through our publishing
division, EMIS (Evangelism
and Missions Information Service), we are developing more and
better materials including books, handbooks, journals, and newsletters.
Technology
promises affordable opportunities to digitize more of our resources.
The Center's collections will become more available to people
who cannot travel to Wheaton. We are dedicated to this for we
desire the BGC to be more than land-based; indeed "cyberspaced"
to be a nerve center of evangelism and research that fuels the
mission movement throughout the world. |
